We started our miniature donkey adventure in July of 2002 with two donkeys. That was the plan, and now we have donkeys numbering around 70. We are continuously improving our herd by replacing our stock with donkeys with better conformation, better dispositions and better pedigrees. After visiting 12 farms in Texas in 2009, we decided that the drafty, square donkeys were exactly what we wanted to raise in the future. We have used the slow economy to our advantage and made some fantastic purchases in the past couple of years with 75% of those purchases coming from Texas. We have all colors of donkeys, but we especially love those reds and Tyger spots.    (3/14)

Herdsires:
We are adding two Junior Herdsires with the purchase of Lil Angels Flash Gordon, a 30" black and white spot and Lil Angels Uptown Gentleman, a yearling black jack. We have ASSphalt Acres Ali, our 30" light red jack who is very drafty and square. We can't forget the 2004 National Champion Short ASSets Fireplug, a 32" dark red, 3-time and still counting National Supreme Jack. Our newest Herd Sire is The Elms King of Hearts, a 30 1/2" red jack. We believe he will give us more options in getting that rich red color we like so well.

Directions:
ASSphalt Acres is located betwen Rushville and Shelbyville, Indiana, just off State Road 44. We are 6 miles off I-74, just 30 miles southeast of Indianapolis and 80 miles northwest of Cincinnati.
