Our farm is nestled among the beautiful rolling hills of Kentucky just
forty-five minutes south of Lexington. We are home to a loveable, small, dark,
herd of miniature donkeys with some of the finest pedigrees. Little Moses, our
black herd sire is out of Dodge City’s Jack of Spade the same sire of Future
Link, and grandsire of Main Event. KKR Good as Gold our junior black herdsire is
the grandson of Magnum 45 and has done very well in the show ring. You will
find, too, that our jennets are from well-established herd sires such as Motown,
George Jones, LN Bronson and Magnum 45, Main Event. By crossing these pedigrees
we expect to produce some very fine dark miniature donkeys that will provide
the outstanding genetics for breeding programs as well as top quality

Welcome!! ASSissi Sunset Acres is all about love. Love for the minis, the land
and all that surrounds us. St. Francis of Assissi’s love for all creatures large
and small is our cornerstone. Our love for creatures goes beyond miniature
donkeys as you will see on our farm page. Three Golden Retrievers, a cat, birds,
fish, chickens and an occasional stray call ASSissi Sunset Acres home. And that
is what we are striving for, a good safe and secure home for our animals.
Spectacular sunsets are a daily event and became a part of our farm name. It’s
the time we take to count our blessings. Even though we have included photos of
just some of our sunsets, a photo just doesn’t do them justice. But, we try to
make it a daily part of our lives to catch each sunset.
So how did we get here in the beginning? Well, a good friend stopped by with two
miniature donkeys that he wanted me to see. Well, my friend left with an empty
trailer! I just had to have them. Never before did I have the opportunity to
experience such loving little creatures! They are so quiet and loving (except
for feeding time when the jennets just forget that they are ladies!) I was
amazed at their ability to show love for their little ones!

We have a park like setting for our 90 miniature donkeys with 23 foals and
weanlings, approximately 300-400 children visit each year and enjoy our loving
donkeys. I am a breeder but only place my donkeys with loving homes with

The Cold Creek Donkey Company is a small ranch located just east of Willis
Texas. We are at the end of a dirt road just 3 and a half miles from town. The
donkeys are free to roam in pastures on 43 acres. They have plenty of fresh air
and love. They are all registered and have regular farrier service to keep their
toenails looking great. They range is color from brown to grey. All our donkeys

Our herd sire is LK Tash. He is the son of Country Music's George Jones
(World Grand Champion) and Belle Starr. He is brown and stands 32' tall.
Directions:
Take I-45 to Willis. Turn East (toward Willis) on 1097, then right (south) on
Hwy 75. Turn left on FM 2432, bare right at the fork, continue on 2432 for
approximately two miles. When you pass Texas National on your left, go 1/4 mile
and turn right on Farrell Road. Continue down Farrell Road until the black top
ends and just keep on going until you see the Upton mail box on your right. Turn
right on the red dirt road and proceed up to the Upton gate. Give us a call at
281-380-0666 for instructions on how to get into the ranch.
